TarotBot is provided for entertainment and personal reflection purposes only. All tarot readings, card interpretations, and AI-generated content are fictitious and created for fun, inspiration, and self-exploration.

We do not guarantee the accuracy, reliability, or completeness of any reading or interpretation. TarotBot is not a substitute for professional advice of any kind — including but not limited to medical, psychological, legal, financial, or relationship counselling.

Decisions made based on tarot readings are entirely at your own risk. TarotBot and its developers accept no liability for any actions taken or not taken as a result of content provided by this application.

By using TarotBot you confirm that you are 18 years of age or older and that you understand the entertainment nature of the service.

1. Overview

TarotBot ("the App", "we", "us") is an AI-powered tarot reading Progressive Web App (PWA) accessible from any modern browser. This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that data.

By registering an account or using the App, you agree to this policy.

2. Information We Collect

      Email address — used for account creation and login.
Display name — optional nickname shown inside the App.
Password — stored as a one-way bcrypt hash; we never store the plaintext.
Reading history — tarot spreads, questions, and AI interpretations you generate.
Subscription records — subscription status, purchase tokens, and order IDs
            for billing verification.
Referral code usage — if you used or shared a referral link.
Browser & device info — basic technical info (browser version, OS type)
            for error diagnostics only.

    

We do not collect precise location, contacts, microphone, or camera data.

3. How We Use Your Data

To authenticate and maintain your account securely.
To deliver AI tarot readings using your question input.
To manage your subscription and verify payments.
To provide customer support when you contact us.
To calculate and award referral bonuses.
To detect fraud, abuse, and unauthorized access.

4. Subscription & Payments

TarotBot offers two paid options to unlock tarot readings:

💳 Monthly Subscription

      Price: $4.99 per month.
Included: 30 tarot readings per month (daily card, 3-card spread, love spread).
Free trial: 3 days free with 3 readings upon first subscription.
            If you cancel before the trial ends, you will not be charged.
After trial: $4.99 is charged automatically when the 3-day trial expires.
Billing cycle: Monthly, auto-renews until cancelled.
Cancellation: You can cancel at any time via your account settings.
            The next billing period will not be charged once you cancel.
Expiry: Unused monthly readings expire at the end of each billing period.

    

🎴 Readings Pack (One-Time Purchase)

      Price: $4.99 (one-time, non-recurring).
Included: 15 tarot readings that never expire.
No auto-renewal: This is a single charge — no subscription, no recurring billing.
Stacking: Pack readings stack on top of your existing subscription balance.
            Subscription readings are always used first; pack readings are used only when
            your subscription quota is exhausted.
Refunds: As a digital consumable product, pack purchases are generally
            non-refundable once any readings have been used. Contact support for exceptional cases.

    

All payments are processed by our secure payment partner. We do not store raw payment card numbers or full payment credentials. Purchase tokens and order IDs are stored solely for purchase verification and fraud prevention.

5. AI-Generated Content

Tarot interpretations are generated by Google Gemini AI. Your question text and selected spread type are sent to Google's API for processing. Please do not include sensitive personal information (e.g., full names, addresses, financial details) in your readings. Google's privacy policy governs data processed by their services.

6. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with:

Google (Gemini API) — for AI interpretation of tarot readings.
Payment processor — for subscription payment processing and verification.
Railway (hosting) — your data is stored on servers provided by Railway. Railway privacy policy.

7. Data Retention

Account data is retained as long as your account is active.
Reading history is retained for up to 12 months after account deletion.
You may request deletion of all your data at any time (see Section 9).

8. Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your data: bcrypt password hashing, HTTPS/TLS encryption in transit, JWT tokens with 90-day expiry, and environment-variable–based secret management. Despite our efforts, no system is 100% secure.

9. Your Rights

You have the right to:

Access all personal data we hold about you.
Correct inaccurate data.
Delete your account and all associated data.
Export your reading history.
Opt out of any non-essential communications.

10. Children's Privacy

TarotBot is intended for users aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 18. If you believe a minor has created an account, contact us and we will delete it promptly.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any material changes will be reflected with a new "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
